Dave had been working for many years as an electrical apprentice when fate stepped in. More than 10 years ago, while shopping for light bulbs, Dave walked into a Connecticut based lighting store where he worked during high school. The store's long time repairman had quit that day and the store owner needed someone he could trust to take over the busy repair shop. While originally hired to repair lamps and lighting fixtures, Dave rapidly expanded his offerings to include custom fixture design. Customers began bringing him items from vases, to door knockers, to riding boots to electrify. Each new piece inspired Dave's creativity and passion, enabling him to design thoughtful, unique and beautiful pieces.
Lorraine, the elder daughter of an entrepreneurial family, saw an opportunity to bring Dave's artistry to the Lower Hudson Valley. An IT professional with a passion for crafting, Lorraine envisioned a new business that would bring together the couple's differing skill sets. With that, the idea for Tilbrook Lighting was born.
Officially launched in 2025, Tilbrook Lighting represents a new and exciting chapter for Dave and Lorraine. Together since 2001 and the parents of two teenage sons, Dave and Lorraine enjoy collaborating on design decisions and working side-by-side in their workshop.
